אקולון זה שם מסחרי של סוג פלסטיק מסויים, שאפשר לייצר ממנו טבעות הגבהה. רוב טבעות ה"אוקולון" שתמצא בכלל לא עשויות מאקולון אלא מחומרים דומים אחרים. "אוקולון" הוא שיבוש יחודי לשפה העברית. באנגלית - Spacer, או Body Lift Spacer.

בבוקסה של בולם החומר רך יותר, יכול להיות גומי, או פוליאוריטן, אבל (לדעתי) פלסטיק קשה כמו ניילון, אצטל או אקולון - ממש לא מתאים.
