Daniel, you are welcome to copy the photos and add comments. The key ones have comments on the bottom.A photo is worth a thousand words

Back to the subject, in my opinion for slow off road and crawling, Diesel would be my selection.

This April I crossed a canyon between the Mohave Desert and Death Valley with the Diesel conversion (13B-t/H55). I have done that same route before the conversion (2F/H41), and THERE IS NO COMPARISON

    Cool :

    Ofer Bruhis
The text is in English because my Mac does not have a Hebrew keyboard. Apologies.

I have been with Landcruisers since early 80s and has done many trips in the Western part of North America from Colorado, Moab and all the way to Alaska. The diesel model was never imported to the US and we go through hoops to do diesel conversions. Its not a coincidence that Australia and Africa all use the diesel version. Until the mid 90s the Toyota diesel engines were bullet proof (1HD,1HDT, 1HDFT). I have had an 60 series that have gone through a diesel conversion, built a 40 series with an ungraded turbo engine and currently converting an 80 series to a turbo diesel (1HDFT/H151) 4.2 liter 24 valves. The engine came out of the vehicle that marked the waypoints for the Paris Dakar race. I am building an expedition vehicle, and just considering the range on a tank of fuel would justify the Diesel selection.

I have driven hundred of thousands of miles with both and my preference is the Diesel.

Here is the two links for the last two vehicles conversion

In Israel if you will try to do such a conversion, you will have to wait 2 years for DMV approval just for the paint...

    Erez hi,
Back to the Gas/Doesel issue. The conversion is almost done. I am headed to Alaska in 4 weeks on a 15000km journey with my wife. I tried posting on this web site, and it comes out all garbled. Below is a link to the blog that should be finished with the last (fifth) post in a few weeks, .when it all comes together. If you have any idea how to post on this web site, you are welcome to do it...

I will prepare a video of the trip including aerial. I'll keep you posted.

    Cheers
