    COOPER STT 3 PLY 2 :

    http://www.coopertire.com/html/produ...discoverer_stt

The heavy duty carcass of the Discoverer STT is constructed of two radial polyester body plies and one angled polyester body ply to deliver 3 plies of protection for superior resistance to impact breaks and bruising.

    http://www.coopertires.com.au/tyres/..._report_01.htm

this new STT so special. "Cooper has taken its existing outstanding two ply STT tyre and added a third ply, but not just a normal third ply."

In a normal 4WD tyre there are rubber gaps between the sidewall cords. The rubber gaps are the weakest point of the tyre. A nail, a stake or sharp outback grass can push against the sidewall cord, deflect off and penetrate through the weakest point, (the rubber) and you get a flat. What Cooper has done is put in a third ply on an angle. It's called Armor-Tek3 technology and it's unique to Cooper. While some other 4WD tyres have three plies, none of them have the Armor-Tek3 angle ply.

Now 33% stronger in the sidewalls and 2.5 times more resistant to tearing, the new STT is the closest thing you'll get to having a coat of armour on your tyres."

    Thanks for the help

I just got a set of these 33x12.5x15. They don't make all that much noise for being as aggressive as they are. I have had good luck with Coopers in the past. I really like the look of the tread design and sidewall tread

I've got the "old" style STT and they love slinging mud!!I did have them siped for wet road traction, they've got pretty good road manners.

I'm running 35s. I wanted Toyo MTs but after waiting a month for them I gave up and went with the Coopers. Only ran them a week so far but they are extremely quiet on road. They do great on wet roads and in the sand. Have not had them in the mud yet. Here are some pics

i have STT on my 02... love em. i have about 10k on the tire wearing pretty good, hope to get around 45k out of them. great traction off-road, alittle nosiey on the hiway, but not to shabby... i would get them again

have heard good things and people have recommended them to me when I was getting my lift

Corey, the Cooper ST has been recalled depending on your size. You will get a free replacement set if you take it in. The ST is an all terrain, not a great tire offroad. Even their Mud Terrain STT is nothing special. This depends on which tread pattern you are speaking of, they recently changed from the old (very loud design) to a newer Open Country tread knockoff w/different sidewalls. The old tread pattern wasn't too bad offroad nor was it anything too aggressive, just the typical MT. There won't be a worlds difference in any standard lightweight Mud Terrain (i.e. Wrangler, BFG MT, STT, etc.) offroad but onroad is another story (rain, puddles, noise level, etc). Good luck.

I purchased a set about a month ago and approx. 2000 miles. I put them on a 2005 F-350 the tire size is 35x12.50x18. They are very quiet, ride good, the best in the water at 55mph and work very good in sand. I have not used them in the snow at this time. I will purchase them the when mine are done.

my cousin has em on his '03 fx4 screw with a body lift
they look great & handle/perform really well
gunna be gettin a set for my truck after these terra grapps wear out a lil more

They're considered a M/T but I've used them on my XJ and they were very good in a lot of varied terrain and Very Quiet (more so than my worn out Revo's). The E rating will make it air down a lot different, they had fun seating the bead because the sidewalls are so rigid. I'm going to Seattle today so I will have a chance to judge the 10 ply's highway manners on a light rig like my WJ.
