Toyota in Israel questions

Any of you guys want to do me a favor

Answer a couple of questions for me

1.
What was the first year Toyota started to import to Isreal?
2.
Did you get any jf40,42,60,80 or is it only trucks (hilux)
3.
what was the last year for the solid front axle...before they went to IFS and were they always 8 inch same as the rear
4.
what motors did you get
R22, R22re, R22te or/and the POS V6?
What year did they start with the 2.7 4 cyl
Any diesels.....(I do think its a retorical question)

היילקס, פוראנר עד 96 ומאז פראדו / לנדקרוזר 120, בשנת 98 כמדומני הביאו מספר מצומצם של 75

3.
what was the last year for the solid front axle...before they went to IFS and were they always 8 inch same as the rear
בהיילקסים עד 97 כולל (מ98 זה כבר IFS). דיפרנציאל אחורי 8" וקדמי לפי הסרן: עד 97 8" ומאז 7.5" כמו שמוכר לך בארה"ב - המעבר היה מקביל למה שהתבצע ב 86 בארה"ב.

4.
what motors did you get
R22, R22re, R22te or/and the POS V6?
What year did they start with the 2.7 4 cyl

פוראנרים כמו בארה"ב V6 בנזין, היילקסים: עד 97 2.4 דיזל ללא טורבו, 98-03 2.4 טורבו ומאז D4D עם מסילה משותפת.
לפראדו היו כמה 3.4 בנזין, אך הרוב היו 3.0 דיזל. בחדשים (120) הדיזל 3.0 והבנזין 4.0 אם אני לא טועה.
ה 75 הגיעו עם דיזל נטול טורבו 4.2

The common Hilux in israel is quite similar to the pre 85 minitruck -

same 8 inch axles front and rear, leaf springs, same steering setup etc.

But most of them are 4 door double cabins, making them accepatable family transportation

and most of the 4x4 Hiluxes came with the excellent toyota electric locker as original equipment in the rear!

the engine is the 2L 2.4 litre diesel , turbo-less, up to 97. from 98-03 it fot turbocharged - but 98 also lost the live front axle.
no 2.8 litre 3L engines in Israel - damned if I know why

Virtually no gas engine Toyota, or for that matter, any Japanese pickup truck. The Israely market has been dominated by diesel engines for the last decade.

keep in mind all I know about Israel is over 20 years old
all I remmember is no Toyotas and diesels only in the taxis

יש היילקס עם מנועי בנזין בארץ שנקנו בארץ, אני מכיר היילקס שנת 93 יד ראשונה עדיין עם המנוע המקורי.

The 22r engine is one of the longest lasting engines ever made
it only plays a 2nd fiddle to the MB 616/617 Diesels
I had (years ago) a 82 toyota cellica that showed 600,000 miles, ran perfectly
As well as a 84 Hilux 4x4 that came to me with 325.000 miles in perfect running condition.
The biggest change happened in 83 when they changed the a double timing chain that lasted forever to a single chain that required to be changed every 80.000 miles.
Thats the week link......you dont change the chain+guides......you will be rebuilding the motor soon when the valves are going to hit the pistons when the chain snaps
Moral of the story........change the chain and guides at
...what 120.000 KM and it will last forever!

The 84 I have right now came to me with 125.000 miles (very low)But the chain wasnt changed in time, so I had to go thru the whole motor.......it runs perfectly now, short of the gas tank, its rusted as the truck came from a farm in Kensas......But what do you want for $250?????????
