Sorry for any grammar issues as I am not fluent in hebrew, so I type in english
I own a 98 forester here in the US and am visiting israel to see family in the month of april. While I am interested in fun trails and adventure, I am curious to know if anyone knows of junkyards with many subarus I am looking for some very specific transmission parts that are not sold in the US. If you have advice or leads, it would be amazing. Also if anyone wants to adventure in april, I would be glad to join! .

if your family lives in the centre area of israel, you can go to one of the junkyards lokated at the arab village of Taibe. there are several of them on the main road (no# 444). any way, i doubt if they would let you take a transmittion apart to salvage parts. it is usualy sold as a full assembly.
or, you can ask your family to contact one of the local mechanics close to them, who deal with subaru, in advence, to try and get a used part for you.
there is one in kfar saba.

are any of the subaru folks familiar with the dual range transmissions from older model subarus?

Actualy , I am one of the founders of the israeli chapter of MTNroo

The dual range is very sought after here
if you can elaborate on the specific parts you are after, maybe someone will be able to piont you in the right direction

Ah very cool! I am not super involved with my MTNroo chapter, but I have been to many events!

My crazy plan is to get a whole dual range transmission and break it down for shipment. I have heard of taking just the specific dual range parts to add it to a USDM 5speed, but I am not sure I am that skilled

So with that, I am looking for a whole dual range 5MT transmission. I did not realize they were sought after In Israel still.

I don't know if it is possible to do - converting a 5mt in to a D/R
but it would be a lot easier to swap the whole transmission
i will try and find some leads for you

Brand new transmission-never installed
And a used one, needs rebuilding
