that 110 cost over 100,000$ !!!!!!

remember that defenders are collector trucks in the US and if your willing to spend 50-70,000 on a 1993 used 110defender...than spending another 30,000 to bring it to new condition is not a big deal.

SO...that garage is know for doing the best restorations on Defenders in the USA...no expense spared....but with that...comes the bill.

Hi Everyone,

My first post on Jeepolog. Avichy has been telling me to sign up for over a year but because of my bad hebrew i didnot...Google chrome translation is good so now i am.


There are only 509 1993 Defender (NAS: North american Spec) 110 in the USA

All are White
All came with V8 engines
All are 5 speed LT77S

THATS IT !!!!!

Every other 110 "Defender" in the USA is either Illegally imported or used a Landrover chassis from a minimum 25 year old truck

6000+/- Defender 90 were imported for only 3 years

So, All Defenders in the USA hold there value , are expensive for what you get and only true fanatics buy them.

אני מצטער להרוס לכם את היום יזמים צעירים שלי, אבל זה בלתי אפשרי:

1. הבעיה הראשונה של לנד רובר הייתה שהם לא עמדו בתקנות זיהום האוויר.
2. הבעיה השניה של לנד רובר הייתה שהם לא עמדו בתקנות הבטיחות ולכן הוסיפו כלוב.
3. הבעיה השלישית והרצינית יותר היא שלא היה לרכב כריות אוויר, את זה לנד רובר כבר לא רצו לפתור, כי השוק קטן מדי ויש מתחרה רציני מקומי (חברה קטנה בשם jeep או משהו כזה, מוכר למישהו).

4. היה רעיון של לקחת רכבים ממקסיקו, הבעיה היא שיש חלופות מספיק זולות ורציניות בארה"ב לדיפנדרים והמחיר לא מצדיק את זה. גם בחצי מחיר ממה שמצוין פה בשרשור, 50,000 דולר לא היית קונה דיפנדר בארה"ב כשהמחיר של ג'יפ מהמפעל עם שיפורים נמוך מזה או קרוב מאוד לזה.

5. תעשה לרכב מה שאתה רוצה (זה גם לא נכון, אפילו בארה"ב) אבל להביא אותו לארה"ב כשהוא לא עומד בתקנים לא תצליח.

6. מהבעיה הזו סבלו לא מעט יצרניות אירופאיות במהלך השנים, כולל פורש, פולקסווגן, לנד רובר, מרצדס, וולוו... רובן אם זה היה רכב שהן רצו שיכנס הצליחו בסוף להכניס אותו ועשו בו שינויים שהתאימו אותו לתקנות האמריקאיות, אבל המקרה הכי זכור בהיסטוריה המוטורית האמריקאית הוא של הפורש 959 שאנשים כמו ביל גייטס קנו, במקור הרכב בכלל לא היה אמור להיות מיוצר, בסוף פורש הגיע להסדר* עם הרשויות בארה"ב שהיא תכניס את הרכבים לניסוי בארה"ב, אבל כל הרוכשים היו חייבים להוציא את הרכבים תוך שלוש שנים מארה"ב (90% אכן בסוף הוציאו אותם, היתר... אין לי תשובה, סתם יש לי; חוקקו חוק מיוחד בארה"ב שמאשר יבוא רכבים בעלי עניין מי שזה מעניין אותו" autos of interesrt", או חוק "Show and Display" האנשים שדחפו את קידום החוק כמו ביל גייטס וסיינפלד לא משכו את הרכבים שלהם מהמכס במשך 13 שנה ואז כשחוקק החוק לבסוף 13 שנה מאוחר יותר ניתן היה להכניס אותם לארה"ב בלי להחזיר, מי אמר שרק בארץ יש הון ושלטון:wink:).

את מי שזה באמת מעניין והגיע בקריאה שלו עד לכאן, פורש לא הסכימה להכניס את המכוניות שלה לניסויי ריסוק בארה"ב דבר שחייבו התקנות לכל רכב בעל הנעה של 4 גלגלים כמו ה959, הרכבים האלו נמכרו בערף בחצי מעלות הייצור שלהם ולהשבית עשרה רכבים כאשר נמכרו רק כ-370 היה הזוי מבחינה כלכלית. באמת סיפור לא מעניין, אבל מרתקת ההשוואה בין פורש ללנד רובר :p

Thanks for the welcome, i have already learned alot for this site. It is very interesting to see the differences in offroading. I come from FLA and there isnt a mountain for a 1000 miles....BUT lots of deep water and mud. Now that i live in Israel....i like trying out the hills near my house in the 110....alot different technique than the mudding im used to.
